My name is Olivier Loose and I welcome you on my website A Circle Is Round. The main purpose of my website is to support you in your quest to expand your understanding of the physical sciences. Whether you are a high-school student, a first-year university student, or a naturally curious person interested in science, there are plenty of resources available to help you along the way.
In a first instance, I’m happy to give you assistance through Tutoring Support in the form of online or in person one-to-one sessions to answer any questions you might have in relation to physics or mathematics.
Secondly, I offer text-based Preparation Courses, which allow you to become familiar with the main scientific topics taught during the first year of higher education. The Preparation Courses contain plenty of self-designed images and numerical examples to guide you throughout your study.
To put your understanding of scientific knowledge to the test, I have also put together a number of Exercise Packages, whereby every Package represents a certain theme and consists of twenty elaborate, originally created exercises.
My website gives you furthermore the opportunity, through a section called Articles, to read about a diverse variety of scientific topics, such as theoretical physics, quantum biology, astrophysics, and microbiology. Within that section, I publish freely available articles in which I delve into the academic work of scientists and reformulate their insights in an accessible and transparent fashion.
Let me also share with you some information on my academic background. I graduated with a master’s degree in Commercial Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven and a postgraduate degree in International Conflict and Security from the Brussels School of International Studies (Kent University) with distinction. In addition, I obtained a certificate of successful completion for several online university courses on a number of subjects, including research methodology, biochemistry, particle physics, the theory of special relativity, climate science, and philosophy of science. Finally, I also completed my 1st bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy at the Free University of Brussels with an average result of 15.4 out of 20.
If you wish to receive a newsletter, share your first name and email address with me below and you will be notified when a new preparation course, exercise package, or article is published on my website.
If you would like to send me an email, I’d be delighted to read you.
Have a great time studying and reading!
Olivier
